Arusha at last

The map from the back of the airplane seat shows our route from Amsterdam. The tip of the plane points to Usa River, Tanzania.

Here is the line to get a visa to visit Tanzania added to your passport.  One of our travelers had to wait through this "line" to be admitted to the country. The rest of us stood in another line, just as long, to get through Passport Control. The photographed our four fingers and thumb, both hands, further delaying the process.

Finally we get to the Guest House maintained by the Meru Diocese of the Lutheran Church in Tanzania. It has been 18 hours of flights, about 24 hours total duration, and most of us have had 1-3 hours of sleep.  Do we look it?

  1. You do look a tad whipped, but you are finally there; Hallelujah! Seeing you there, seated around the tables in the guest house brings back a flood of memories! I can smell the delicious soup and see Mama Kyara's bright smile!

Savor it all. What a privilege, indeed.

  2. Most of you are smiling, so that is good.
